We have to remember the new novels – Outback and now Thin Ice – were not written by Desmond Bagley, they are only using a draft character he never actually published, with their name changed. However fans and thriller-readers alike should be very interested in this new and final title to the trilogy honouring his work. The excitement continues …

This tale – on first appearances and I’ve not seen an ARC or proof copy – seems to be aping the famous novel of Bagley – Running Blind, especially with the cover. There is a certain cheesiness about the tag-line here too. Bagley was never so arrogant as to suggest his hero might “save the world”. Although we should bear in mind this is probably just the publisher’s spin rather than the author’s intent as Michael is a true, long-term Bagley fan.
Publication date has been moved back from August this year to October 24th.
